Polka-Dots in the Park

Navy, polka-dot DRESS by & Other Stories for $85. Similar style navy DRESS. Polka-dot DRESS for $39. Similar DRESS from Nordstrom for $75. White BOOTIES by Jeffrey Campbell.

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today is an awesome day because my best friend, Laura, is visiting from Paris! It's her first time to New York City, and I can't wait to show her all my favorite spots!

Today's look is ALL about polka-dots. This dress is from one of my favorite stores, & Other Stories. If you are from the U.S., you may not have a lot of experience with this store just yet, but I can tell you, it's one you'll want to shop from. They have great prices and the clothes quality is second-to-none! Both things I definitely look for when shopping... and I'm sure you do, too!

I love the pleats and back cut-out. It's a perfect dress for a day of errands, and one I've worn to church.

I love pairing dresses with booties. It takes a more dressy look to more casual so simply. These white ones have helped me through thick and thin here in NYC. They even have the scuffs to prove it! These exact ones are no longer for sale, but I've linked a similar pair that'll give the same look.

Yesterday I took a midterm for my second graduate class. I can hardly believe I'm already halfway through with summer 2 classes. Once the summer session is over I'll technically be halfway through with one semester of grad school. I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of being back in classes, and I gotta say, it is nice being back in!

My apartment is finally coming together! This week I got a shelf, string lights and two pendant lights to hang on each side of my bed. My counter stools came in late last week, too! I can't wait to do a full apartment tour soon! Just a couple final items, and it'll be ready to show!

I hope you all have a great day! I'm out and about showing Laura the Big Apple! xx

Rebel w/ a Cause-- Struttin' in the Perfect Yellow Ruffle Dress

Mustard yellow, ruffled wrap DRESS for $74 by Storets. Similar DRESS with floral detail on Nordstrom for $47. Similar DRESS from ASOS for $40. Yellow/gold ankle wrap SANDAL heels by Sam Edelman. HEELS in grey, red, blue & multi from Nordstrom. Yellow-tinted Aviator SUNGLASSES by Vogue.

Hey girls! Happy Wednesday! I am so pumped to blog this outfit today. This is a dress I am absolutely crazy about, and it just naturally brings out all kinds of sass!

It's one piece with a wrap. The edges are laced with ruffles, and the sleeves are my favorite part! I was feeling especially monochromatic when I shot this look so I added these yellow-gold heels by Sam Edelman and these yellow-tined sunglasses by Vogue Eyewear. I've literally been wearing these every single day. They give off all the retro-vibes. Since wearing them I've seemed to be listening to an exceptional amount of Steely Dan! hah!

Yesterday was such a fun and busy day! After shooting early in the morning I ran over to have my hair styled with the T3 team. The stylist took my hair from being a nappy bird nest mess to being more amazing than I've ever seen it! It was such a fun break, and I will take any opportunity to have my hair played with. Also, T3 just has the world's best hair tools. I cannot say enough good things about their products!

I honestly have hardly stopped moving this week. Busy would be a huge understatement, but I honestly love it. It's so much more fun having stuff to do than just sitting around, and there are only so many times one can watch The Office all the way through!

Just reflecting on my first couple months living in NYC, and it has already been unforgettable. I love living in a city with so much going on, but even more so, I love living in a city with so many different and diverse people. NYC has someone from every imaginable walk of life, and living amongst so many new people is really eye opening, interesting and inspiring.

Sending lots of love. Hope today is the best! xx

Blue & White Striped Shirt Dress w/ Black Lace Overlay

Blue & white striped DRESS w/ black, lace overlay from Chicwish for $52! Similar DRESS on Nordstrom. Silver metallic leather BOOTS on SALE for $98. Similar BOOTIES by Topshop.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent mine catching up on some much needed sleep and homework. I actually slept in till nearly 1 p.m. on Saturday. I forgot what it was like to sleep so late! Now back to real adult life.

This dress is a creative take on the slip dress overlay trend. I love how it's the mix of two different styles. The bottom is a blue & white striped shirtdress and the top is a black lace slip. Best part--it's ONLY $52. I love getting mail from Chicwish. Their clothes are so affordable and well-made.

I added some metallic silver booties from & Other Stories. These are on sale for $98, and they are so similar to some more expensive brands' versions like Prada and Louboutin. I also linked some similar from Topshop--also affordable.

I love these photos we took in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's such a cool area. It definitely has a young vibe!

Today I'm headed to a couple meetings and another Central Park walk before class tonight. Maybe I'll have another celeb sighting like last Monday! :)

Wishing you the best for today! xx

The Best Two-Piece Set for Summer

Free People two-piece SET (3 colors available). Similar sets: HERE (under $100), HEREHERE (under $100) and HERE. Janessa Leone Alara HAT. Similar hats HERE ($58) & HERE. Dolce Vita HEELS on Nordstrom. Also available as a SANDAL for $59.

Hey friends, happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here, and I'm sure you have some big plans in the works!

Two-piece sets are kind of my thing... I mean, I absolutely love them, and really can't help myself when I find one I like! I got this one at the Free People store in Meatpacking while getting my phone screen fixed. It's so light and fun and perfect for those hot summer days.

I love sets because you can wear them together or the pieces separately. This top would be so cute with white denim or some bell-bottomed jeans. The pants would be cute with a white tee. It's just fun to have an outfit to mix-match!

I added my favorite Janessa hat. This one is wool, but I think it works in all seasons. Summer has never stopped me from wearing wool hats, at least! These Dolce Vita shoes are also so fun! I've been wearing these with so many outfits, and they come in a sandal version!

My friend, Delanie, is in town! She is my sweet friend I met while living in Little Rock. She actually did my lashes! We really hit it off, and I'm so excited to get together with her while she is in town. We are having tea today at the Plaza Hotel. Definitely checking off one of those bucket list items! I think this weekend will be full of meeting up with old and new friends, and that's one of my absolute favorite things to do! I also really MUST make time for homework. Can someone please send me some motivation? Living in New York City can be quite distracting sometimes!

I hope you all have a great day! xx

Off-the-Shoulder, Gingham Dress w/ Lace Top for $47

Floral, off-the-shoulder, gingham DRESS for $47. Similar gingham DRESS. White BOOTIES

Happy Tuesday, friends! The weather in the city has been absolutely gorgeous! I just wish it would stay this mild all summer long. It's really not too hot or too chilly!

The nice weather makes shooting outfits so much easier. In Arkansas it was so hard to shoot when it was warm because I would nearly melt just stepping outside.

I love this dress from Chicwish! It's so cute and only $47!!! It's gingham print and OTS with white, lace detail on the top. It has navy ties around the waist and arms. It's just funky enough to be so much fun! Just what I like! :)

When I shot this outfit I ran into Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl. My photographer, Brian, and I were having a freak out session as soon as he walked by! It was probably hilarious to watch, but we played it so cool while he was actually around.

Believe it or not, I had another celeb sighting yesterday in Central Park. My friend, Margaret, and I are decided to go for a walk in the park because the weather is so nice! Well, low and behold, Rebel Wilson was filming a movie. If you follow my instastory you would have seen a little video of her filming! It was so much fun. I think she is absolutely hilarious!

Needless to say, living in New York City has been a blast so far! I'm so excited for things coming up over the next few weeks. I have a couple friends visiting, too! Just so much to look forward to these days it seems!

Sending love! xx

Ruffled, White Top for $44!

White, ruffled TOP for $44 from Chicwish. Similar HERE. Similar tops from Storets HERE & HERE. AG JEANS. Similar HERE for $35. Metallic heels by Halston HERE & HERE for $52.

Hi friends! I hope you had another great weekend! I spent mine doing some much needed time relaxing. Many of you know from my previous posts last winter that I am a HUGE fan of the 1990s show, Twin Peaks. The third season reboot was recently released (I haven't seen it yet), but I just got Chase started on the originals. It's been so much fun binging these all over again. It's amazing how many tiny details you miss watching it the first time. If you haven't seen it--I highly recommend. It's weird, but it's SO good!

This top is one of my great finds! It's from Chicwish, and like all of their clothes, it's unbelievably affordable. This top is actually only $44! The top is all mesh detail and the bottom is teared ruffles. It's really flowy and so simple to put on over jeans.

These Halston shoes are linked to Dillard's and on sale for $52, also!!

This weekend I also put Chase to some work. I had him help me hang up some hooks in my dressing area between my bedroom and bathroom for a hat wall. Before now all my hats were hidden up in a closet. I didn't really like having them put up. The wall even looks so much better. I'm ready to get more hats up here from my parents' house so the wall can be completely covered!

I'm trying to figure out the best ways to utilize all the space in my little apartment. It has been a challenge, but a fun one at that.

Today I am meeting my friend Margaret for a walk in Central Park. Class again tonight. I can tell it will be a good one! I already feel like I'm learning new things!

Have a great Monday! xx
